I've owned over 40 bikes & been riding & racing about 35 years & hope to share something helpful at some point to the members, but this is my first Aprilia.įor some things I've read and learned some valuable things on the forum without creating a thread, but sometimes I start a thread in a particular way that isn't like the threads that I have read.
Some forums out there are full of young punks with more negativity and poor attitude than anything else. Overall, I enjoy and appreciate the engagement and comradery with members in positive forums environments. Sometimes the search function may narrow and I don't see it and sometimes there's so many threads, I would take me hours to read them all (which I do from time to time if I have time and if I know I won't be having to face the issue I'm experiencing again before I can read all the threads). I will admit, I don't always read every thread ever written on the forum before creating a thread. PS: there are enough threads and posts across this and the RSV4 forum to support the variation in QS across the RSV4/Tuono rangeFor some things I've read and learned some valuable things on the forum without creating a thread, but sometimes I start a thread in a particular way that isn't like the threads that I have read. It's not a 'race feature for full throttle changes' it's a quick shift system deigned to work at any engine speed over 5000rpm and any throttle application greater than 'not closed' I'm also exploring the various settings and only owned the bike 2 days at that point. My TC was on 7 because it was 6 degrees and I have 150 kms on my tires that have yet to see warmer than 12 degrees. I've never felt the need to rev to 9000 rpm when I'm handing the flag in 1 hand. I've short shifted my bikes coming onto the track and while holding the flag on victory laps and can't hold the left bar. It should also work short shifting as well. quickshifter should work well whether u shift at about 5000 or above as long as you're reasonable on the throttle and has always worked for me on 7 other bikes. PS: there are enough threads and posts across this and the RSV4 forum to support the variation in QS across the RSV4/Tuono range That is what Aprilia say are the operating conditions and that is when it can be used, I agree I wouldn't use mine like that BUT Aprilia say you can so it should operate OKĪprilia have altered the QS operation for next years bikes, they have not done that because this and previous years bikes QS are faultless, they have altered it for two reasons, a better QS operation and a more reliable gearbox 's not a 'race feature for full throttle changes' it's a quick shift system deigned to work at any engine speed over 5000rpm and any throttle application greater than 'not closed'
There have been previous posts on here complaining about the QS and the related videos always show some pussy shortshifting with very little revs therein lies the problem me thinks.
Why are you shortshifting with the quickshift its a race feature for full throttle clutchless changes wide open preferably above 9k rpm with a good heavy bump with your foot. My 1100 Factory shifts perfectley as did my V4 1000.
